Sylvia brings a broad and diverse experience to bear in her work. She has conducted groups for people with relationship problems and groups for people having difficulty establishing relationships, couple groups, and groups for those separated and divorced
Sylvia’s training and experience, both professional and personal, have given her the capacity to assess the degree of her patients’ problems. She has the knowledge and expertise to choose the interventions and approaches most likely to be effective for each patient.
Sylvia brings a broad and diverse experience to bear in her work. Prior to opening her practice in Red Bank in 1987, she treated families, couples and individuals in the Marlboro and Bound Brook areas. She was also a member of a county-wide crisis intervention team in Bergen County. In Monmouth County, she developed a hospital-based family therapy program which she administered for ten years. In addition more than thirty therapists for the program were trained and supervised by Sylvia. They were drawn from the disciplines of psychology, psychiatry, social work and nursing. A number of agencies in New Jersey have adapted her model for use with their own populations.
Sylvia’s expertise in group therapy has served her patient's well. She has conducted groups for people with relationship problems and groups for people having difficulty establishing relationships, couple groups, and groups forthose separated and divorced. Groups run September, October and November,January, February and March, as well as April, May, and June.
Nine years ago Sylvia was struck by pulmonary fibrosis and eventually received a lung transplant. She has returned to her practice in Red Bank. In addition to her practice, she organized and conducted a pro bonopulmonary support groupfor community residentswhich ran for four years in theBayshore Wellness Center.

·Pre and post-doctoral training and supervision in cognitive and behavioral therapy approaches.
· Post-doctoral training and supervision in dissociative and identity disorders and posttraumatic Stress disorder. These disorders are associated with either emotional, physical or sexual trauma, or the experience of catastrophic events.
· Post-doctoral training and supervision in psychodynamically oriented therapy and psychoanalysis.
